i paint, i draw, i write every single day. i wake up and do it all over again. i believe.

my world in bits

my world in living color

my world in layers

my world inside my head

my world is happy
I have such a huge dream for my life. I realize I wake up and repeat what I did the day before. Sure I shake it up and change routine around but, really I wake up and create all day long. I am driven by a need to share, give and seriously know personal achievements. I look back on my life and zoom through all of the creating I have done both personally and in my career. I think to myself what drives me so much. Answer I know what I want and I am not there yet.

I adore color, layers, vintage, pattern, inks, paints, pencils, sketching, details in everything. I want to share my passions big, like really BIG. So I am dreaming huge. Bigger then feels comfortable at times. I push through the fears, the odd feeling that sometimes visits. I know that I am going to get to this place I dream and work for. I can see it. I can hear the conversations. I know it like I know myself.

So I keep showing up. I keep creating. I keep being grateful for the ability to wake up and have my life. I know that I am lucky to be full of passions and ideas. I am very very blessed.

We are all blessed with a knowing. Listen to yours and then charge ahead. Never to late to join in your dreams.

At the end of each day HOPE remains.

layers coming together to build my house of hope

big world. big dreams. big climbing.

at the end of each day HOPE remains.

details matter to me.
I have been thinking lots about hope, dreams, reality versus what I can actually make happen.
Yes, lots of big thoughts. I have been spilling out the journey of listening to my heart and painting. Painting like there is no tomorrow. No real direction just spilling, etching, carving, layering, scratching the surfaces of what hope means to me.

Lately, I think hope means to wake up and try my best to put direction into my day. I have so many creative energies pulling me. I know that my card line is waiting patiently for me to have it be seen by more stores. I know that I have been healing physically for months and continue to heal. I am surprised by how having shingles and nerve pain has altered my life. I am grateful that at the end of each day HOPE does remain powerful for me. I am driven by the power of hope. The listening of who I am and who I need to be.

I am about to walk into unknown adventures again. Clinging to the hope I feel inside and the knowing I am meant to be seen. Daily I crave sharing goodness, happy and really making a difference. Surrounding myself with every good intention I can muster up. Grateful as ever.

Love Sale in my Etsy Shop 40% off Art

In honor of LOVE. One of my most favorite things to do is LOVE BIG. I am having a LOVE ME sale in my etsy shop. 40% off my original artwork.

I often find amazing art that I cannot afford to buy. I sometimes wish original great art was more affordable. Believe me I live the life of the starving artist so I know that we as artists need to earn a living and that the time, talent and love we gush into our art is worth tons.

I also believe that when we feel something strongly we need to bless that feeling. For me it's having this LOVE ME sale in my etsy shop.

I am grateful that I live my life as an artist. For me creating is like breathing. Naturally I adore giving and loving others. Enjoy my friends. Thank you for enjoying what I do.

Crazy goofy me. I have always been a graphic designer (really like forever) and illustrator. I learned many zillions of years ago after a friend told me this = if it comes easy to you it is a gift, use it, do it.
I was already a graphic designer, illustrator, artist at the time. I never charged extra for illustration.
I always thought that if it came easy to me it was worthless. After this conversation I hired an illustration rep.

So for the past thirty years or so I have made a living (gratefully) creating for clients. I really never found the confidence to create just for me and put it out there in this great big world. Crazy as that sounds it is very true.

So after many years of nurturing this thought of creating for me and sharing with the world = I begin. Yes, I begin again. I am creating. I am listing my art on Etsy. I am telling others that it is out there to be found by like souls. I am still trembling inside praying that the folks who receive my art will like it in person.

I so look forward to the day when the anxiety leaves me and I know this = Kelli your art is good, it helps others feel good, it is okay to put it all out there.

Thanking you for sharing my journey. You are greatly adored.

Taking this moment to Shine

daily affirmation = designed by me

lifetime of learning to understand this = getting it

grateful = in my life for finding like souls

find beauty in everything around you = noticing
I am back. Yes, I am doing it. The muses in my life must be working overtime today. My word for this new year is Shine. I am going to do my very best to make sure I shine daily. I am choosing to shine on others, goodness, light, love, inspiration, grace. I am choosing to shine on myself, by being true to my artist self.

Following my heart and busting it in directions that might be fearful. Marching strongly towards being the real artist that I am. Not listening to others, ignoring judgements, caring about me, who I am.

Feeling great about getting my Etsy site ready for new artwork and vintage items. Blog design to link up with Etsy. Wow. I am feeling myself starting to shine. Man am I happy about this. Here we go.

marching on most positively proud

This summer has me thinking a lot about putting all good energy into words and works of creative and sharing more. I often send energy out into this big world most silently without word to anyone.
I noticed how much better my soul feels when I share positive happy good silly kind thoughts.
So here I go again.

I have always loved taking bits of things and creating something from them. I have these marvy little squares of cardboard and each day I create something lovely to send out to the world. Energy as it turns out is everything. Good solid energy, connecting with your fellow who's in the universe. Finding passions and running fast with them ~ hold them tight. They are our gifts.

Thanks for staying with me on my blog journey. Grateful I am.

Uppercase Magazine and Me = Love story for me

it all starts here in issue #13 Uppercase Magazine
Canvas 3 dimensional artwork by me featured in Uppercase

artwork on more time
Grateful. Giddy. To the moon thrilled that this month of April will bring my first published artwork and bio in none other than Uppercase Magazine. I know, right?

I have long wanted to be published in a kicking magazine. So I went for my personal favorite Uppercase. I entered my artwork, I entered my bio. A few months go by and I find out that I am lucky enough to have my bio featured in issue #13. A few days go by and I received another email congratulating me that out of over 150 entries in art, mine was one that was picked. The contest for art was to create a piece around rain, clouds and dreary weather.

I have no words to say how grateful, thrilled and honored I am to be included in this issue #13.

Here are some links to the magazine

Also it is sold at Anthropologie maybe, my favorite muse store.

Simple little touches that make days shine. Yep.

Tomorrow starts a new week. Mine is loaded with fun creative and new adventures. Abundance is surrounding my soul and I am most grateful.

artful production of 360 cards marching on

each card is hand cut, embellished, here are some drying overnight. i love bunches of items. always have.

me in my tiny studio creating to happy music in the background.
Today I sold my first 36 cards to a lovely shop. I enjoyed this more then I imagined. Funny but, seventeen years ago I started card lines (very different) designs then where I am at today as an artist.
I had a ball creating and making those cards. They soon within a year became bigger then me trying to hand make each one. I had no clue how to manufacture (still don't) learning. So I ended up leaving my love for creating cards to sell in mass behind.

I am now deeply involved in my class Hello Soul. Hello Business. and returning to some loves I left behind. One of them being happy cards, joyful, silly, how do you do fun cards. I still need help manufacturing ~ this time I am creating with the vision of coming full circle and getting my goods found nationally.

So for tonight I close up my little studio and wish to this big universe. Here is my wish, please send the right good folks to help me on my way of being found. Yep, that is the biggie.

a peak into my sacred world i call my studio

730 thursday studio name

a few of my collections i adore

favorite books new and old (of course)

more random books

one really messy yet organized surface
So I am learning a lot about myself these days. This Hello Soul. Hello Business. class is really filling my mind up with lots of learning about ME. All good just heavy stuff.

I would have to say I spend more time in my studio then you can imagine. I love my studio. Yes, I long for cement floors and five times more space with loud French music and even a bar and sitting area with vintage goods. Until then I create, and create and create in my little 10 x 11 studio space.
Really, amazing considering how much stuff I crank out of this little space.

It is a sacred space for me. I have only had 2 people in it to create with me ~ ever. I am not sure why? Our home is always open and social and I love having parties. My studio however always remains tender for me to share. I will show more of the room as I continue to be more brave.

Yes, I am learning much these days about little ole me. Trying to face fears and open up and really believe in myself and know me. So I am sharing.

Thanks for being a part of my world.

original design by me. vintage illustration by Harrison Cady.
Today starts more internal goodness for me. I am thinking about all the things that make me - well me.
I know that humor helps me survive. Without even trying to be funny or witty (as they say) I am.
Not sure why or how? I think it comes from my dad, he is very funny! Thanks dad.

I know how important it is for me to keep an edge about me. That can be a gentle edge, a silly one, or just my own little secret edge to get energy from. I loved this illustration taken from a vintage book of mine (thanks to the illustrator Harrison Cady) something about the quick zippy lines just spoke to me and I knew it needed to be seen again. The book is from 1944. How cool to know this little fox has been waiting for me to find him and bring him out to be admired again.

Witty on my path I will be today and tomorrow. Pour down all the goodness you can moon. I will be ready and waiting for all of your magic! Many moons of thanks, in advance.

trust. simple. powerful. trust.

design by me. photo by me. arrangement see link below.
Trust yourself. Sounds simple. It is not for me. As an artist I am learning that trusting in me is so so important. What a lovely gift to give yourself, right?

The kind of self that you will be happy to live with all of your life ~ for me this is always inventing, creating then re creating, moving from each part of the dream to make it all become one lovely journey.

Here is to the journey we are all on. May yours be joyful and full of stories. Share if you like. I love hearing from you. Most grateful for my followers.
