oh to get lost in a photo

I love knowing someone is lucky enough to live inside these windows.

A path you could walk again and again and never tire of.

Even the books look better. Really.

Me on the left taking more pictures of rooms I want to live in.
I have been getting lost in my photos from Europe since I came home. Okay, so it was only a month ago. I am so hooked on how visually historic and rich every turn is. I just feel like I was meant to live in this kind of space.

You know how you go to a place and you instantly feel like you belong. Yep. That is how I felt.
I thought I might feel this way and I did. I love knowing that I can get lost in a simple moment of the photos I now have.

I am still working on how this trip will change my year. I know there are many ways it can. Now just to put dreams into actions.

Thanks for sharing my love of aged history simple lovely moments in life.

my imagination travels to here

I would wear this dress with gold shoes.

I would have lunch in this room with wonderful insightful friends.

Then we will go out on the lawn and sit here to giggle more.
Sometimes it is fun to imagine a new way my day might be. Yes, we can all create our days as we wish. I love to recreate my home, designs, styles of what I might wear each day. So today I am living in this little world I share with you.

Tomorrow I will be back in my real world ~ designing, taking care of my pups and hubby and facing a new deadline.

nests for my dogs = sweet home

handmade dog bed by hubby and me for small pearl button

hand made stool by hubby and me pearl likes this one. high enough to see out the window.

sweet 12.5 clover resting and recovering in her big nest.
This past week (well everyday who am I kidding) has been focused on our dogs. Pearl Button the little JRT and Clover the sweet lab.

I am so lucky to have these gentle souls in my life to wake up to each day. They smile, play, simply roam around and make life better. Even when they are sick they show love like no other.

I have a goal to design some dog oriented products this year. I have all of the inspiration I need now just to focus and make the time for it. That seems to always be the tricky part.

For tonight I will go to rest and be back designing and loving my pups in the morning.

the power of friendship

my friend (angel) coco on the right

we had our candles glowing

hearts all around for healing little clover dog

coco brought a very special gift she was given to share

clover and pearl were happy and relaxed having auntie coco visit

everyone was very comfy

all the good energy worked magic. clover stood for a few minutes today.
I am most grateful for my friends who get me and how much I love my dogs. They are my children and I treasure them beyond words.

Last evening my friend Coco came to visit Clover. She brought a gift that was given to her ~ a beautiful bottle of wine. First thing when Coco arrived Clover sat up in her nesty for the first time in 4 days and barked. Well, I cried. What a great blessing.

We opened the beautiful bottle of wine. Sipped our wine, praised Clover (and her little sis Pearl) played music, laughed and shared stories all while Clover rested in the midst of us.

I know the energy and life laughter around Clover helped heal her some last night. There is such amazing power in friendship and laughter and honest loving.

This morning Clover is standing (okay, only for a few minutes) and eating and I believe making each day count while she recovers.

Good friendships I adore.

Pearl the little dog who sneaks in my studio = adore her

while working away i dropped something went to pick it up and there Pearl was.

any pile of fabric will do nicely.

normally her chair (but crowded) she tried to make it work.

not being comfy she hopped down and left this.
Pearl is a small little JRT who is 1.5 years old and weighs in at a whopping 11 pounds. She is full of love and energy and smiles. She always looks up to her much older sister Clover who is 12.5 and very sick right now. Pearl is a very good little nurse but, today was a bit bored and decided to try a few nesty spots in my messy studio.

She had fun and made me laugh. I needed that laugh. Thanks Pearl.

Tomorrow I am starting my new projects and will be posting about them. Off to dream of a healthy Clover and creating in my studio.

clover + pearl = sisters who love each other a lot!

clover with pearl watching over her
We are a few days into watching Clover with her vertigo. I am learning many things. Such as even a small full of energy JRT aka Pearl can be calm and loving and watch over her big sis. The nature of animals is so incredible to watch. They know, they get it, they are not taught these behaviors, they just know. I love this.

I often say that if people could be more like our dogs we would be in a silly happy place.
Just think if people did the following (like dogs) unconditionally loved us, no jealousy, never say a bad word or action, always happy to wake up (tails wagging) always grateful for whatever treats (gifts) we share with them. The list could seriously go on and on and on.

I just love my girls so much. I am hopeful that Clover's strong will and the love from her sister and us will help her overcome this terrible sickness. I really would love to see her tail wag.

clover my sweet lab is sick

the three of us in bed resting

dad's hand on clover with pearl too
Today was one of those days that taught me the power of patience and love. Clover our 12.5 lab is sick with vertigo, an extreme case given her age. She has been sedated all day, not up once to eat, drink or even stand. So sad.

I have never had children so to me my pups are my kids. To see her needing so much and trying to give her every comfort knowing it might not be enough is tough.

For tonight she is resting sweetly with her little sister Pearl on top watching over. My hubby and I are always by her side. I pray that she wakes feeling a bit stronger and better then today. Maybe, even an appetite. You certainly know your lab is down when food is not the focus of their day. smile.

Thanks for your prayers and well wishes. I know Clover is most grateful too.

the love i have for my dogs (best friends)

clover at 12.5 years old. smiling of course.
Today I am reminded of how lucky I am to love and be loved by my lab Clover. She is sick and we are waiting until the morning to visit our vet (per his instruction). I am reminded of how much I depend on her happy tail wagging, her little nails on the floor reminding me that all is good in my world.

Thank you Clover for being my best friend. I love the way you gently enter my days and make them so much more fun to live.

I adore dogs. I just do.

so true. happy new year.

this happens to be a very true statement for me
Since this is a new year. New things should start to spin around. I have lots of ideas and plans I want to come true. I think the statement above it going to start my Jan. off with a good kick.

No wrongs in creating just create.

There is a freedom in creating and designing as if no one is looking (ever) Being a graphic designer I find that I am always waiting for approval. This Jan I start with looking inside me and bringing more of myself to life.

Sounds easy but, I personally know this is hard.

Okay. Here I go letting go of the fear of being wrong. I will let you know how my progress is coming along.

sounds simple. making it happen.

little design inspired by words = adore
Live what you love.

Little words that each sound simply lovely alone and together make me think, "Am I doing this?"

I know that I must create or my spirit does not shine quite as bright. Actually I do not know what would happen to my spirit as I have always been lucky to create.

One of my goals this New Year is to wake up and ask myself ~ to do what I love. I am going to try hard to change enough patterns that I am living what I love most all of the time.

Sounds like a journey I will enjoy. Each bump will take me to a new path that will bring more insight to my little world around me. I hope.

Live what you love. I invite you to come along. I think we could have wonderful conversation about its meaning.

style so fresh and sweet

I stumbled on these precious little paintings and had to share. These are just so special with the capturing of personality and sweet attitude.

The fresh style is very appealing to me. The white space around the little creatures is just perfection.

Please refer to the link above to see all of these darling goodies. Enjoy!

beauty shots in Paris

the neutrals with mod lights, a great mix

i fell big time for these little glass vintage tags that once marked pear trees
There is something about after the holiday crazy fuss that makes me want a neutral place to pad around in. Sounds good in theory not sure if I will make this happen or not. I have so many wonderful pictures from my travels in Paris. I love the mix of vintage and mod, dark and light, steel and wood.

I think it is about appreciating differences in textures, pattern, color for me.

Something new to create for the new year. What fun!!!

serenity

I would like to build this nest one day. so sweet and simple and lush.

a shrine of sorts = beautiful

love how simple and pure this is.

Maybe, in January I will make things all white.

Serenity = the state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled.

This is a lovely place to find yourself if even for a few moments while we all rush around busy with the season. Take time to laugh, watch a silly movie together. Light candles, eat fun snacks, nap, antiques shop for no reason just for sheer joy. Most of all find a little peace in the day.

These photos each are so artful and lovely. Simple statements of using easy life, words, textures and peace to create a moment.

color oh so French

the colors are so wonderful in the frenchy blue and white case

you must go inside. incredible beautiful yummy.

so pure and sweet

our little box of joy to take with us.

some calming neutral pretty after all that sugar.
Today I found myself thinking about color a lot. Trends for 2012 will start showing up in retail and clothing. I would like to take the colors in the first photo and create an entire line of something fresh.
I think I just might design these for Spring. I love this idea.

The creams and neutrals are so peaceful in the last photo I took. I am drawn to these neutrals around me at home, like a calm in the storm of my busy world.

In 2012 I would like to create more with these colors so fancy and move toward getting neutrals around me more.

Then I would wish to move to Europe. Any tips you might have on moving to Europe for a year please share. I would be most grateful.

Peaceful Holidays and Happy Colors!
